October 31st, Amazing visit to Luberon Perched Villages
A great tour!! We spent a wonderful day with Sarah touring the Luberon Perched Villages. Each village we visited had a unique story and absolutely amazing views. We learned so much about the area - the history, the people, food and wine. Our lunch stop in one of the villages was one of the best meals of our stay in Provence. Sarah is an exceptional guide and you are guaranteed great memories if you have the opportunity to take one of her tours.

October 11th, Day Tour Aix-en-Provence
We booked a tour off our cruise ship stop in Marseilles and the four of us had one amazing day in Aix. Sarah Pernet was accommodating to our needs/requests. We got a great overview of the area and learned some local culture. It was a great day. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We had train tickets from the port, but ended up taking a taxi to Aix (it was the same price for the four of us). We were in Aix from 9-4 and then back on the ship. Highly recommend using Sarah.

September 29th, Luberon Perched Villages
I really loved this tour, mainly because the villages we visited were so beautiful and picturesque. We first went to a lookout point to take photos of Gordes which had a killer view but was a bit disappointing due to the increased presence of real estate agents that swarm the town from what I gathered. Next, we headed to my personal favorite, Roussillon which was the very first one we got to explore. It was an all red/orange town, mainly because of the ochre which was mined here. We also had a nice lunch in Lourmarin which was one of the five perched villages. The tour proceeded briefly stopping by Ansouis, Cadenet and Cucuron where a scene from “A Good Year” was filmed. Personally, I’d prefer to have just visited 3 of them (Roussillon, Lourmarin and perhaps Ansouis or Gordes) and spend like an hour each village to explore and take photos and hopefully end the day with two wineries. We capped our day at Chateau La Coste which is an artsy museum/winery. It’s very sleek and modern and wine tasting was free! I would have loved to explore another traditional winery to compare the two. Nevertheless our guide was a great driver and informative. Sarah was very nice and soft spoken, I wish we had more time to get to know her but she showed us a a great deal with the time we had. I hope you try this tour and if luck has it, you can customize your tour to your liking.

September 3rd, Excellent 3 day Tour of Provence and surroundings
We did the 3 day tour of Provence with Sarah. From Cassis to Luberon Vilage to Arles. It was all enjoyable. Sarah was informative and pleasant. I had hurt my leg prior to the tour and she made allowances for us. Near St Remy, we also visited Carrieres de Lumieres and it was an interesting and amazing experience.
In addition, Sarah made very good recommendations for food. At all the restaurants we stopped at for lunch, we loved it . We reckoned one of our best meal was in Cassis.
Thank you Sarah for making our experience unforgettable .

September 1st, 'Fantastic Guide'
My wife and I recently toured Provence and had Sarah give us two days of private tours. The first day was about Van Gogh and involved mainly St. Remy and Arles. The second day was the hilltop towns of the Luberon. Sarah was a font of information and was a delight to be with. She made our time in Provence wonderful! Most highly recommended!!

August 24th, Luberon Perched Village Tour
We did a Luberon Perched Villages tour, and it was a great experience! Sarah is a very knowledgeable tour guide, and we learned a lot about the villages we visited as well as Provence in general. We visited many beautiful villages, and Sarah taught us a bit of history about each one. I will definitely be contacting her again the next time I'm in Provence.

August 11th, Charming Tour of Provence
We absolutely loved having Sarah drive us around Provence. She is not only professional and prompt but she has a wonderful calm manner about her that makes you feel that you are well cared for. We learned so much and saw towns, wineries, olive oil mills, Cassis; a beautiful seashore town was a favorite. Sarah is very knowledgeable about the history of Provence as well as the fun cultural facts. We especially enjoyed seeing the unique places that involved the famous artists of the time. We would love to go back!

August 7th, Cassis Was a Sight We Will Never Forget and Hope to Come Back to one Day
We had a wonderful afternoon in Cassis with Sarah. She was professional and knowledgeable about the area. Sarah drove us in her clean and comfortable van. Cassis was absolutely stunning. It was a sight we will never forget and hope to come back to one day. Sarah set up a boat tour and spoke about the three calanques as we cruised along the bright blue Mediterranean water. She also gave us some free time to explore the port. I would highly recommend the tour to Cassis with Sarah. Thank you again Sarah for a memorable afternoon.

August 5th, Exactly What I Wanted
Sarah at Discover Provence gave us a personalized, enchanting tour of the lavender fields and industry, as well as of a lovely winery to taste wines representative of Provence. We covered a lot of ground, but never felt rushed. Having lived in Aix-en-Provence for many years, Sarah is quite knowledgeable about the area, and we learned about much more than just lavender. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, which made transportation convenient as well as comfortable. It was exactly the afternoon excursion I had hoped for, and I look forward to another tour with her the next time we visit Provence.

July 28th, The Best Way to see Provence
We had a great day with Sarah. After learning that I wanted to see the lavender fields in bloom, she quickly re-arranged our schedule that day to make it happen! It was glorious...the sights and smell of the fresh lavender was intoxicating, and we will never forget it. Sarah's flexibility, knowledge of the area and patience as I clicked hundreds of photos, was very much appreciated. Letting Sarah do the driving, worry about the planning of the day and ensuring that we learned as much about the area as we could while travelling in her clean, air conditioned, comfortable van, made our tour day much more than we expected. Thank you Sarah for making our vacation experience the best that it could be. -- We will be back!

July 15th, Arles and St Remy Tour
We had a fabulous day tour with Janicke to Arles, St. Remy, and Beaux on July 5, 2017. Janicke knew the area well and was a wonderful tour guide. We shared the tour with David and Savannah and we all got along great. We saw more than we could have ever done on our own. The tour of the Olive grove and processing was very interesting. I became more of a Van Gogh fan after following in his footsteps. I would highly recommend this tour company. I even ending up discussing books for our book club with Janicke.

July 12th, The best way to experience Aix, cassis and the calanques
We met with Sarah for approximately 8 hours on June 8, 2017. Not only is she knowledgeable, but a super teacher. Had we known how terrific she is, we would have scheduled another day tour with her. We are four friends all 70+ and it was a VERY warm day. Sarah was considerate and thoughtful and never once did the day lag in any way. Her tour was one of the highlights of our 14 day stay in Provence.

July 10th, The Best Day in Provence
We had an amazing, insightful, and joyful tour guide (Janicke) while traveling throughout Provence. We visited Cassis which was a gem! We would do this tour again any day!

July 8th, Ultimate Provence Experience
Sarah and Janicke provided our group of 6 with a fabulous 4 day tour experience that heightened our enjoyment of our first visit in Provence. Both guides are as knowledgeable and professional as they are friendly and approachable. They each proved that their goal was to make sure our site-seeing goals would be met and that we would have a good time. They did not disappoint! We had considered renting a car and visiting sites on our own but we are so glad we did not do this on our first trip as we never could have learned or seen as much. We would love to return to Aix en Provence some day and we will contact Sarah again for tours of the Provencal region.

July 6th, Delightful, productive, educational day with Sarah
We generally prefer to engage the services of a local guide any time that we visit a new and unfamiliar part of the world. So for our first (and certainly not last) trip to Provence, we connected with Sarah Pernet through Discover Provence for three full days. We had booked to stay in Aix-en-Provence for a week, and Sarah gave us a wonderful start to our trip. The tour group was small (2 to 5, depending on the day) so the experience was very personable and flexible. Our favorite day was the visit to Arles and St. Remy, where Sarah's deep knowledge of the history and culture made it such a fascinating visit. She shared an appreciation for both the ancient Roman history of the city and it's more recent importance as the last home of van Gogh, where he painted so many of his best known works. Sarah's restaurant selections for leisurely lunches at shaded outside tables were all excellent. Sarah was singled out by Rick Steve in his book on the Provence area, and with that lofty recommendation she did not disappoint.

July 4th, Brilliant Day!!
We did a full day tour with Janicke - 'Town & Sea'! It was a fabulous day! Both my husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The walking tour of Aix en Provence was very informative - Janicke has a great way of making history interesting! She is down to earth and really easy to talk to! We loved our time in Cassis, such a pretty place! The lunch was relaxing and we enjoyed the local wine, that Janicke suggested (along with the local fish)! Loved the boat trip to the Calanques. It was great meeting other people (from other countries) who were also on the tour (very nice people). The view from Cap Canaille was spectacular! Fantastic to explore and see the sights with a lovely friendly local! Highly recommended!!

July 2nd, Walking Tour Aix
Superior walking tour led by Janicke. In depth commentary of local art, history, food an wine. Great recommendations of local restaurants. Finished tour by one such restaurant where Janicke made a reservation for us for lunch. Highly recommend!

June 25th, Provence Cooking Class
My recent trip to Aix du Provence was magical due to a cooking class by Discover Provence-Day Trips. The class was in a country chateau and the host was warm & wonderful. We were given a tour of the chateau and then began the preparation for the menu. From start to finish it was lovely! We learned great secrets of cooking & culture, ate our creations, and sipped Rose! This class is great for great cooks & non cooks, as well. Sarah was a wonderful guide and our group was just 2 of us!

June 11th, 'Van Gogh, Arles, & Les Baux 1 Day Tour : Magnifique!
My daughter & I booked this all day tour with Sarah on our first day in Provence, and we are so happy we did. Sarah provided a wonderful introduction to the area, and we learned far more than we could have on our on, especially since we didn't have a car. We loved her energy; the pace was perfect and amount of information was just right. From learning about Van Gogh to the Roman history of Arles, to our visit to an olive mill, it was all fascinating and fun. I can't pick a favorite part because we enjoyed every aspect so much. Highly recommended!

May 8th, 2017 - 'Incredible Full Day Tour'
We booked the Full day tour of the Perched Villages. We were staying near the Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence and walked 2 blocks to meet our wonderful tour guide, Janicke. We were on our way and what a great day it was. She was delightful and fun and provided so much information on the villages that we visited. In between, her quick wit and fun attitude was a delight. She even made an unplanned tour stop to show us a beautiful area where Cezanne painted. I would highly recommend this tour group.

April 23rd, 2017 - 'Wonderful trip with Sarah to the Luberon Villages'
My wife and I had a great experience visiting the Luberon villages with Sarah. I would highly recommend anyone who is visiting the region book a tour with Discover Provence. Sarah truly gave us the most memorable and enjoyable part of our trip to France.
The Luberon Hill villages are spectacular and worth seeing if in the Aix-En-Provence area (where we were staying). Sarah was able to pack a lot in our full-day tour and even took us to a couple of wineries (where we received excellent treatment and had some fantastic wine). We also had a delicious lunch at a cafe Sarah picked out for us. While the day was full of sights, we also had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the area.
You can tell that Sarah truly loves what she does! Can't recommend this trip enough.

April 20th, 2017 - 'Beautiful Day in Provenvce'
My wife and I did the full day tour of the Luberon Perched Villages with Sarah. It was a great way to see a lot of Provence we would have missed otherwise. We learned about the history of the region and its people, but more importantly we felt like part of it because Sarah was such fabulous guide and gracious host. The day was wonderful from start to finish...visiting the villages, eating lunch, wine tasting, seeing the lavender farms. We only regret not booking a second tour. Thanks Sarah!

March 12th, 2017 - 'Great Day tour Arles, Les Baux and St Remy
The full day tour began with Arles with Janicke as tour guide. We were able to see the city and learn about Van Gogh's time there (and the Romans and much more). Janicke took us to a fine spot for lunch after a drive into the lovely surrounding area. We saw Le Baux de Provence, a magnificent hill town. We went to an olive orchard where the process of growing the olives, harvesting and then pressing was demonstrated by the local overseer. Then we went to the asylum in St Remy to the asylum to see where Van Gogh lived and painted so many of his famous works toward the end of his life. At each stop, and between stops, Janicke gave us background information that enriched the experience. A person on his own would not get the level of depth that we received on the tour.
