Provençal Cooking Demonstration - enjoy a true Provençal experience with cooking expert Marie-Hélèn
In co-operation with Marie-Hélène (our charming local cooking expert) Discover Provence is now offering our clients the chance to experience everyday life in a real Provencal home.
Marie-Helene has a true passion for cooking and entertaining and a vigor for local food and history. She will welcome you into, and show you around, her beautiful home in the Aixoise countryside for an exceptional day of Provencal culture, traditions, cooking and dining.
Classic Provençal Cooking - 1 Day with lunch 9.30am - 3pm
Spend an informative fun morning preparing a seasonal Provençal meal with Marie-Hélène, an experienced French cook. The demonstration takes place in the comfort of her beautiful 18th century home, situated in the Aixoise countryside, giving you a 'real' Provençal experience.
You will learn how to make traditional local dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients from the local market. With traditional recipes Maire-Hélène will show you how to create an authentic Provençal meal. You will learn about how different dishes are prepared, cooked and seasoned and also about their history and origins.
Afterwards, enjoy a 3 course lunch (prepared by you!) with Marie-Hélène in the relaxed informal atmosphere of her home.
9.30 am - 3 pm
The course is limited to a maximum of 4 clients (minimum 2)

My husband and I just finished our third tour with Discover Provence. We fully enjoyed the Luberon villages and Cassis tours, but a stand out for us was the day of cooking with Marie Helene.
Marie Helene is passionate about Provençal style cooking and it shows in every single thing she does. We were welcomed into her home in the country with open arms. She is not a professional chef, rather she learned to cook homestyle country French Provençal food from her grandmother and her mother.
We sat at her kitchen table while she showed the preparation of creme brûlée. Easy! (Really!!). She went on to have us stirring and chopping together while preparing several appetizers, two vegetable dishes and lamb.
We gathered in her cozy living room with a glass of local wine and enjoyed tapenades and crispy zucchini blossom fritters. Delicious!
On to lunch where we enjoyed some of the most unique yet wonderful vegetable dishes I have ever tasted. Scrumptous! Dessert featured learning to flame our own creme brûlée.
A most enjoyable day. My husband, who's more into grilling than cooking, also enjoyed it! I will take with me Marie Helene's love of cooking when serving these recipes to my family for a long time.
